Giving to those in need
Cross Roads RI - $900,000 Donation

Shoreham Bank has awarded Crossroads Rhode Island with a $900,000 matching grant to assist in the development of 300 permanent supportive apartments for adults experiencing homelessness in Rhode Island.
According to Brian Murphy, Chairman and CEO of Shoreham Bank and a Crossroads Rhode Island board member, the matching grant was designed to draw attention to the non-profit's dedicated capital campaign and inspire others to support Crossroads’ bold housing vision.
“Our goal as a financial institution with deep roots in the Rhode Island community is to contribute in some meaningful way to the state’s biggest challenges by aligning our resources with those needs,” said Mr. Murphy. “As part of this work, we developed a strong partnership with Crossroads and its mission to serve those who are experiencing homelessness. In recent years, Rhode Island has had one of the lowest housing production rates in the nation. We hope this gift will contribute in some small way to the state's housing production challenge and in so doing, improve the lives of Rhode Islanders in need.”
“The number of people experiencing homelessness in Rhode Island has reached record levels,” said Michelle Wilcox, president and CEO of Crossroads Rhode Island. “We are extremely grateful to Shoreham Bank and its leadership team led by Brian Murphy for supporting Crossroads during this challenging time. This matching grant was instrumental in allowing us to complete our dedicated $15 million capital campaign and move forward with our plans to create 300 safe and affordable apartments for those in need in our community.”
