How Apple Pay® and Google Pay™ Work

Using Apple Pay or Google Pay with your eligible Shoreham Bank account is simple! 

  • Add your eligible Shoreham Bank debit card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet

  • Verify your card information

  • Pay by tapping your phone or device at participating merchants or selecting the wallet option online

Is Apple Pay® or Google Pay™ safer than using a physical card?
Yes! Both Apple Pay and Google Pay use Device Specific Account Numbers, Encrypted Transactions, and tokenization (replacing your physical card's number) adding an extra layer of security to your account. Apple Pay and Google Pay also never share your card details with merchants, reducing the risk of skimmers or data breaches. 
 
What happens if my phone is lost or stolen? 
Your digital wallet is locked behind your device's Passcode, Fingerprint, Face ID, or other form of passcode authentication and can be disabled or locked remotely from another eligible device; you can also lock your debit card directly by calling Shoreham Bank to prevent unauthorized use of your digital wallet. 
 
Can I still use my physical card?
Yes, digital wallet does not replace your physical card but acts as an extension. Your physical card will remain active. 
 
Will using Apple Pay or Google Pay affect my account fees?
At Shoreham Bank, Apple Pay and Google Pay does not come with additional fees for our customers.
